Explore a Weekend this Vermont Inn for Sale (Virtually)

As an active Innkeeper, you know very well what your guests’ experiences are like at your Inn. However, it can be hard to tell what the experience would be like for guests before you become the Innkeeper. We often wonder the same thing, which is why we used this beautiful southern Vermont Inn for sale as a chance to travel through a hypothetical “weekend getaway.” It’s a great way to get a picture of what your guests could see and do at an Inn that you’re thinking about buying.

Checking In

Vermont inn for sale
Pulling in to the Three Mountain Inn, your guests will first be struck by the ambiance of the small village of Jamaica, Vermont, and the classic charm of the Inn itself. A classic Colonial built in the year 1790, the white, clapboard building emanates the distinctive style of rural New England.

Inside, the Inn combines its authentic roots with modern conveniences and amenities to create a uniquely comfortable guest experience. A massive stone fireplace anchors the cozy, wood-paneled common room, while many guest rooms have fireplaces of their own for those seeking more privacy. In the summer, an in-ground swimming pool is a refreshing afternoon break.

Five of the thirteen guest rooms are in the main house; another seven are in the neighboring Robinson House with the final room in the private Sage Hill Cottage. No matter which room your guests book, they’ll find that mix of the classic and the comfortable – every room features original details and a private bath, and many also have fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, and mountain views.

Stepping Out

Once they’ve checked in, your guests are in a prime position to explore the area around the Inn and see what southern Vermont has to offer. Surrounded by the Green Mountain National Forest, the area is an outdoorsman’s (or woman’s) paradise; opportunities for hiking, fishing, skiing, and cycling are around every corner.

Stratton Vermont Hubert SchrieblStratton Mountain, one of the popular ski resorts in southern Vermont, is only a few minutes away, and is easily accessible from the Inn. With 97 ski trails covering more than 670 acres and 3,875 feet of vertical drop, it’s the perfect place for snow enthusiasts to get a taste of Vermont. Stratton also offers Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, fitness classes and events throughout the year, making it a great source of activity for your guests for a day or three.

If guests are not interested in downhill skiing and snowboarding, they can always head right out the back door. The Three Mountain Inn is less than a mile from Jamaica State Park, a 772-acre park that features hiking, biking, fishing, boating, and even whitewater rafting during the summer season. During the winter your guests can also use the trails for cross-country skiing.

When it’s time for a break, your guests can stop by the Inn for lunch or some light afternoon refreshments (the inn also has two dining rooms, a pub, and commercial kitchen) or walk down the street through the village of Jamaica. Some of the best things to see include the HOT Glassworks glass shop and the Elaine Beckwith Gallery of Fine Art. They can even purchase some of their own classic furniture at Skip’s Rustic Furniture and take some of Vermont home with them.

Coming Home

Perhaps you’ll serve appetizers and entrees made with locally-grown Vermont produce and inspired by the area’s seasons and traditional flavors.

After dinner your visitors will happily retire to their rooms or one of the Inn’s other common areas for conversation and perhaps a cocktail at the Inn’s pub. When they wake the next morning, a delicious breakfast could feature fresh-baked pastries, delicious coffee, and (of course!) pancakes with Vermont maple syrup produced right here in Jamaica.
